All Things Oil

You’re probably wondering why I’ve gathered you all here. I used to absolutely hate oils. I was one of those people who assumed that because my skin was already so oily, I didn’t need to add an oil to my skincare routines. Now, a few years older and wiser, I absolutely will not go a day without applying an oil on my face. I found that oils actually stabilized and regulated my skin’s sebum production, making me less oily in the long run. Most of the oils that I’ve incorporated in my routine are affordable and easily accessible. Keep reading to peep a few of my favorites!

Types of Oils

Rosehip (Seed) Oil: Rosehip oil is full of vitamins, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids that are perfect for oily/acneic skin types. With consistent use it can even out your skin type and help fade hyperpigmentation and stubborn dark spots. And because of the fatty acids, it’s incredibly nourishing on your skin.

Jojoba Oil: Similar to Rosehip oil, Jojoba oil boasts those beauty-boosting vitamins A, E, and D, and fatty acids to deeply moisturize your skin. Best of all, Jojoba is also naturally antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory. Plus it’s useful for all skin types, from dry to oily and acne prone.

Squalane: I love all of my oils but low key squalane is my favorite. Squalane naturally mimics the structure of our skin’s natural sebum to prevent moisture loss. It’s another lightweight oil that’s noncomedogenic, and can be used in combination with retinol, vitamin c, and body lotions to bring out the most moisturized you!

Combos: These are all oils that I love that have two or more of the oils listed above in their ingredient list. All lovely and all worth trying!
