March Empties

Emptied a lot last month! Let’s get into it!

Skincare

Beautystat Universal C Eye Perfector* (0.5 fl oz for $65, available at Beautystat, Violet Grey, Dermstore)

It took me a while to get into this eye cream, I almost gave up on it in the beginning but I’m so glad I didn't. It’s really thickkkk, and you definitely have to make sure your skin is dry or else it’ll glide around the skin around your eyes. It definitely leaves the area around my eyes looking brighter with its light pink tint, and it looks really nice under makeup. Probably would not repurchase, solely because of the price point. I also maybe would repurchase because it’s a luxury Black-owned brand.

CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum (1 fl oz for $17, available at Target)

I really enjoyed this serum. It’s a pretty mild percentage of retinol in the formula, so I didn’t have any problem with purging or sensitivity. It contains ceramides and niacinimide to protect your skin barrier and reduce the appearance of pores. This was also my partner’s very first foray into retinol, and he enjoyed it. Would repurchase.

Fenty Skin Total Cleans’r* (4.9 fl oz for $25, available at FentySkin and Sephora)

This was my least favorite product of the first Fenty Skin launch. I find it incredibly difficult to get the product out of the bottle because of how thick the formula was. However, a little did go a really long way, and I received this before the launch and just now finished it. This is also the most heavily fragranced of the three products in the launch, and I definitely got used to it, but just be aware if you haven’t tried it. Wouldn’t repurchase. But Rih I love you! Please don’t take me off the PR list 😩.

Fresh Vitamin Nectar Antioxidant Glow Water (3.3 oz for $25, available at Fresh and Sephora)

I used this a ton when I first got it, and then forgot about it and didn’t use it for a super long time… remembered it, and then used it in between skincare steps just to use it up. I feel like Fresh really led the way with the wave of mists and sprays in your skincare routine. But would I repurchase this one? Nah. I like the Laneige and the Peach and Lily Mist way more.

The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid (1 oz for $7.99, available at Sephora)

Not even gonna get into this one—a forever repurchase. The Inkey List did what needed to be done with this HA. And the price point? Untouchable.

Paula’s Choice 10% Niacinamide Booster* (0.67 fl oz for $35.20, available at Paula’s Choice and NOW SEPHORA!!!)

I absolutely love PC Boosters, and this one is no different. Niacinamide is the ingredient of the year for real, and it’s nice having a product that is solely based on reducing pores. Would absolutely repurchase.

Paula’s Choice Pore-Reducing Toner* (6.4 fl oz for $16.80, available at Paula’s Choice and Sephora)

This was my second bottle of this toner, and I really enjoy it! It’s lightweight and helps with the appearance of pores, while also nourishing the skin barrier with ceramics. Would repurchase.

Origins Ginzing Into the Glow Brightening Serum* (1 fl oz for $44, available at Origins, Ulta, and Sephora)

This was a lovely Vitamin C Serum, but I probably wouldn’t repurchase it for the price.

SkyOrganics Organic Rosehip Oil* (1 fl oz for $13, available at Amazon and SkyOrganics)

I absolutely love anything with rosehip oil, my skin just agrees with the ingredient. This was one of the very first rosehip oils I ever used, and I’ve never looked back. And thankfully I’ve developed a relationship with brand, so now I love the product even more. It’s a super effective product at a great price point. A forever repurchase.

Makeup

Laura Mercier Caviar Volumizing Mascara* (0.4 oz for $25, available at Sephora)

This mascara wasn’t bad, but it did flake on my lower lids after a few hours. I wouldn't repurchase because as I’ve mentioned before, I don’t like buying full sized tubes of mascara since I throw them away after 3 months. Safe to say I didn’t finish this mascara, but I’ve had it more than 3 months, so we’re tossing.

Bodycare/Misc.

Flamingo Light Hydrating Spray x2 (6.7 for $10, available at Target and Flamingo)

Literally the only thing wrong with this product is that it doesn’t come in a bigger size. I went through two this month, and it would have been three but I stopped myself because I have tons of other open lotions to finish. However, I will definitely be repurchasing this all summer long. The perfect lightweight moisturizer for all my lazy folk out there.

Ritual Womens 18+ Multivitamins ($30 per month, available at Ritual)

I’ve been using Ritual for years now, and I’ve tried other multivitamins and always end up back here. They’re a little more on the expensive side for vitamins, but I know that they work for me, and my partner signs off on the science behind it. If you have any pressing questions about them, pleaseeee don’t hesitate to reach out. I am an affiliate,* so if you click the link above to shop I will earn a small commission.

& that’s it! If you’ve made it this far, as always, thanks for reading.

xx,

Danielle
